Welcome to Little Bee POTTERY!

I'm Svenja, the maker behind Little Bee POTTERY, a small handmade pottery studio nestled on the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales.

My pottery journey began during a personally challenging time in my life. What started as a way to find a little creative outlet led me to an eight-week pottery course, and from there, a love for working with clay that just kept growing. I quickly found something special in the process of making pottery – the quiet, meditative moments at the wheel, the freedom to experiment and create, and the satisfaction of turning a simple lump of clay into something beautiful and functional.

Fast forward a couple of years, and what began as a hobby has grown into a little home studio, complete with my own pottery wheel and kiln. I eventually found myself making more pottery than I could possibly keep, and with encouragement and interest from friends and family, the idea of Little Bee POTTERY was born.

Inspired by nature, made by hand

Based in my little home studio on the South Coast of NSW, much of my inspiration comes from the natural surroundings right on my doorstep. With the ocean nearby and beautiful forests all around, I'm drawn to earthy tones, organic shapes and the ever-changing colours and textures found in nature.

I love experimenting with glazes, exploring different forms and creating pieces that feel a little unique. No two handmade pieces are ever exactly alike, and I think that's part of their beauty.

A little piece of me, in every piece

The name Little Bee holds a special place in my heart. It's a childhood nickname affectionately given to me by my parents, and choosing it for my pottery studio felt like a lovely way to bring a little piece of my own story into something I'm creating.

My hope is that each piece finds a place in your everyday life. Whether it's your favourite morning coffee mug, a bowl you reach for every day or a special little gift, I want my pottery to be both beautiful and practical – pieces to be used, enjoyed and loved.

Every piece is individually made by hand, with care, patience and a whole lot of love.

Thank you for being here and supporting my little creative adventure. It means more than you know.

Made slowly, by hand, with a little bit of love.
